Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Booking and Reservations
How far in advance should I book my yacht charter?
For the best selection and availability, we recommend booking 4-6 weeks in advance for summer weekends and regular weekends. For holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), book 8-12 weeks ahead. Weekday charters can often be booked 2-4 weeks in advance. However, we occasionally have last-minute availability, so it’s always worth calling us at (954) 233-3513 to check.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy varies depending on how far in advance you cancel. Please contact us directly for specific terms. We understand that weather and unexpected circumstances can affect plans, and we work with guests to find alternative dates when possible. Weather-related cancellations decided by the captain are eligible for rescheduling.
Can I choose which yacht in your fleet I charter?
Yes! When you book, let us know if you have a preference for Nauti Buoyz, Nauti Gullz, Brown Eyed Girl (Boca Raton only), or The Predator. While all our yachts offer similar amenities and capacity, each has unique characteristics. Subject to availability, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred vessel.
Do you offer gift certificates for yacht charters?
Yes! Yacht charter gift certificates make excellent presents for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, or any special occasion. Contact us to purchase a gift certificate for a specific dollar amount or a particular charter package. They’re perfect for the person who has everything!
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and electronic payments. A deposit is typically required to secure your reservation, with the balance due before or on the day of your charter. Contact us for specific payment terms and options.
Capacity and Group Size
How many guests can your yachts accommodate?
Each of our 60-foot yachts can accommodate up to 13 guests comfortably (including the captain). For larger groups, you can charter multiple yachts from our fleet.
Is there a minimum number of guests required?
No, there’s no minimum guest requirement. Whether you’re planning an intimate celebration for 2 or a larger party, we welcome groups of all sizes. Our pricing is based on the yacht charter, not per person, making it cost-effective for both small and large groups.
Can children participate in yacht charters?
Absolutely! We welcome families with children of all ages. Our yachts are safe, comfortable environments for kids. We have life jackets in all sizes, and our crew is experienced in accommodating families. Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children. Many families celebrate birthdays, reunions, and special occasions on our yachts.
What if my guest count changes after booking?
We understand that guest counts can fluctuate when planning events. Please let us know as soon as possible if your numbers change significantly. Since our pricing is per yacht (not per person) and capacity is capped per vessel, minor fluctuations won’t affect your charter. If you need to add guests beyond your yacht’s capacity, we can discuss chartering an additional vessel.
Charter Duration and Timing
How long are your yacht charters?
We offer flexible charter durations to match your celebration needs:
- 4-hour charters – Perfect for sunset cruises and shorter celebrations
- 6-hour charters – Great for extended parties with multiple activities
- 8-hour charters – Full-day experiences with dining and extensive cruising
- Custom durations – Contact us for special requests beyond 8 hours
What time should we depart for a sunset cruise?
Sunset times vary throughout the year in Fort Lauderdale. We recommend departing 2-3 hours before sunset to allow time for cruising, positioning at the perfect viewing spot, and enjoying the full sunset experience. Our team will help you plan the ideal departure time based on your charter date. Summer sunsets occur around 8:00 PM, while winter sunsets happen closer to 5:30-6:00 PM.
Do you offer overnight or multi-day charters?
Our standard charters are day-based experiences. For multi-day charters or overnight stays, please contact us directly to discuss your specific needs. We can work with you to create custom packages for extended adventures, including trips to the Bahamas or multi-day celebrations.
Food, Beverages, and Catering
Can we bring our own food and drinks on board?
Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own food and beverages, including alcohol. We provide ice and coolers for your use. This option gives you complete control over your menu and can result in significant cost savings. Just remember to pack everything in containers that won’t break or spill.
Do you provide catering services?
While we don’t provide catering directly, we have excellent relationships with local Fort Lauderdale restaurants and caterers who specialize in yacht-friendly menus. We’re happy to connect you with our trusted partners who can provide everything from casual appetizers to elegant multi-course meals. They handle delivery, setup, and cleanup.
What is your food provisioning service?
Our food provisioning service is a convenient option where we stock the yacht with food, beverages, and supplies before you arrive. Simply provide us with your shopping list, and we’ll handle the grocery shopping. Everything will be pre-chilled and organized on the yacht when you board. This saves you time and the hassle of shopping and loading supplies yourself.
Are there any restrictions on what we can bring?
For safety and cleanliness, we ask that you avoid bringing: glass bottles (plastic or cans preferred), red wine that could stain (or use carefully), messy foods that might damage surfaces, and items requiring extensive cooking. Strong-smelling foods should be stored properly. Your crew can provide specific guidance based on your plans.
Can we grill or cook on board?
Our yachts have galley facilities for light food preparation and reheating. For safety reasons, open-flame grilling is not permitted while underway. If cooking is important to your charter, discuss your specific needs with us in advance, and we can advise on what’s possible or connect you with catering services that can provide freshly grilled items.
What about guests with dietary restrictions?
Whether you’re bringing your own food or using catering services, you have complete control over the menu to accommodate any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal, allergies, etc.). When working with our recommended caterers, they’re experienced in handling special dietary needs. Our food provisioning service can also shop for dietary-specific items.
Activities and Itinerary
What destinations can we visit during our charter?
Popular Fort Lauderdale charter destinations include:
- Intracoastal Waterway – Cruise past waterfront mansions and landmarks
- Millionaire’s Row – View spectacular luxury estates
- Fort Lauderdale Beach – Anchor near pristine beaches
- Haulover Sandbar – Social spot with shallow, clear water
- Lake Sylvia and Sunrise Lake – Serene locations for peaceful cruising
- Bahamas (Bimini) – Full-day international adventure (requires 8+ hour charter)
Your captain will work with you to create the perfect itinerary based on your preferences, weather conditions, and charter duration.
Can we swim and do water activities?
Absolutely! Swimming is one of the most popular activities on our charters. We have swim platforms for easy water access, and we can anchor at calm locations perfect for swimming. Popular activities include swimming, floating on inflatables, paddleboarding (bring your own or rent separately), and snorkeling (bring your own gear). Always follow crew safety instructions when in the water.
Can we play our own music?
Yes! All our yachts feature premium sound systems with Bluetooth connectivity. You can easily connect your smartphone, tablet, or other device to play your personal playlists. We encourage you to create a playlist in advance that matches your celebration’s vibe. You control the volume and music selection throughout your charter.
Can we visit waterfront restaurants during our charter?
Yes! “Dock and Dine” experiences are popular. Fort Lauderdale has many waterfront restaurants with boat access. Your captain can recommend restaurants along your route and coordinate timing with the restaurant. Keep in mind that docking time counts toward your charter duration. This is a great option for lunch during longer charters or as a destination for your celebration.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is our top priority. Your captain monitors weather conditions closely and makes final decisions about safe operating conditions. Our yachts have both indoor and outdoor spaces, so light rain doesn’t necessarily cancel your charter. If severe weather requires cancellation, we’ll work with you to reschedule for another date. Weather-related cancellations made by the captain are eligible for rescheduling without penalty.
What to Bring and Preparation
What should guests wear on a yacht charter?
Recommend comfortable, casual attire to your guests:
- Swimwear with cover-ups if swimming is planned
- Light, breathable clothing (Fort Lauderdale is warm!)
- Sun protection – hats, sunglasses, sunscreen
- Light jacket or sweater for evening charters (ocean breezes can be cool)
- Flat, non-slip shoes or go barefoot (no high heels or hard-soled shoes that could damage decks)
- Layers since interior is air-conditioned
What should I bring on the charter?
Essential items:
- Sunscreen (reef-safe preferred to protect marine environment)
- Sunglasses with retaining strap
- Towels for swimming
- Camera or smartphone for photos
- Any personal medications
- Reusable water bottles
Optional but recommended:
- Waterproof phone case
- Portable chargers for devices
- Change of clothes if swimming
- Motion sickness medication if you’re prone to seasickness
- Your own snorkeling gear if you prefer (we don’t provide equipment)
Do I need to bring towels?
Yes, please bring your own beach towels if you plan to swim. We recommend bringing enough for each guest who might get wet. This helps keep our yacht cushions and seating dry and comfortable for everyone.
Should I be worried about getting seasick?
Fort Lauderdale’s Intracoastal Waterway and protected waters provide calm, smooth cruising for most of our charters. Seasickness is rare on our trips. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take preventive medication 30-60 minutes before departure (Dramamine, Bonine, or ginger supplements). Staying hydrated, eating light beforehand, and focusing on the horizon also help. Our crew can adjust routes if needed to calmer waters.
Can we decorate the yacht for our celebration?
Yes! You’re welcome to bring decorations to personalize your celebration. We ask that you use non-permanent, yacht-safe decorations (no tape on wood surfaces, no confetti or glitter, no items that could blow away or become marine debris). Balloons are allowed if properly secured. Popular decorations include: banners, centerpieces, themed tableware, and string lights. Remove all decorations when your charter ends.
Special Requests and Customization
Can you help plan a surprise celebration?
Absolutely! We love being part of surprise celebrations. We can coordinate with the organizer separately from the guest of honor. Let us know your surprise plans, and we’ll help make it happen. We can coordinate special timing, decorations, music cues, and more to ensure the surprise goes perfectly.
Do you accommodate marriage proposals on your charters?
Yes! Yacht proposals are incredibly romantic and memorable. Fort Lauderdale’s sunset backdrop creates the perfect moment. We can help coordinate the timing, suggest the best locations, arrange for champagne service after the “yes,” and even help arrange photography. Many couples choose sunset charters for proposals. Just let us know your plans in advance!
Can we have a wedding ceremony on the yacht?
Yes, we can accommodate small, intimate wedding ceremonies on our yachts. Our 60-foot vessels provide a beautiful setting for weddings of up to 13 guests. You’ll need to arrange your own officiant who is authorized to perform marriages in Florida or on vessels. We can help coordinate timing and positioning for the perfect ceremony backdrop. Contact us early to discuss your wedding plans.
Is wheelchair accessibility available?
Due to the nature of yacht boarding and the vessel design, wheelchair accessibility is limited. Boarding requires navigating a boarding ramp and stepping over a threshold. Once aboard, deck surfaces are flat, but bathrooms and some areas have narrow passages. If you or a guest has mobility concerns, please call us at (954) 233-3513 to discuss specific needs, and we’ll advise on what’s possible.
Can we bring pets on the yacht?
We understand pets are family! Small, well-behaved pets may be permitted on charters with advance approval. Contact us before booking to discuss your pet. There may be additional requirements (leash requirements, cleanup responsibilities, life jackets for pets). Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate large dogs or exotic animals due to space and safety constraints.
Pricing and Value
How much does a yacht charter cost?
Charter pricing varies based on duration (4, 6, or 8 hours), day of week (weekend vs. weekday), season (peak vs. off-season), and specific date (holidays cost more). Because each charter is customized, we provide personalized quotes. Contact us at (954) 233-3513 or through our website to discuss your specific needs and receive accurate yacht charter rates.
What’s included in the charter price?
Your charter price includes:
- Professional USCG licensed captain and crew
- Fuel for standard itineraries within Fort Lauderdale area
- All required safety equipment
- Ice and coolers
- Premium sound system with Bluetooth
- Use of all yacht facilities and amenities
- Insurance coverage
Not included: food, beverages, catering, gratuity for crew (15-20% customary), decorations, photography, or extended destinations requiring additional fuel.
Is gratuity expected for the crew?
Yes, gratuity for excellent service is customary and appreciated. Industry standard is 15-20% of the charter cost, similar to restaurant service. This is typically divided among the captain and crew. You can provide gratuity in cash or add it to your credit card payment. Tips are not mandatory but are a meaningful way to thank the crew for making your charter special.
Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden fees! We’re transparent about all costs upfront. Your quote includes everything listed in the “what’s included” section. Optional add-ons (catering, provisioning services, decorations, photography, fuel for extended destinations like Bahamas) are quoted separately if requested. Any potential additional costs are discussed before booking.
Do you offer discounts or packages?
We occasionally offer seasonal promotions, early booking discounts, and special packages. Right now if you book a weekday charter before November 30, 2025, you can save $150 on your adventure! The best way to learn about current offers is to join our email list or follow us on social media. Multi-charter bookings (booking multiple dates or multiple yachts) may qualify for package pricing. Ask about available discounts when you contact us.
Safety and Regulations
Are life jackets provided?
Yes, all our yachts are equipped with USCG-approved life jackets in various sizes, including children’s sizes (make sure to let us know about any children coming aboard in advance). Life jackets are available and accessible at all times. Your crew will show you where they’re stored during the safety briefing. While not required to be worn during normal cruising, they must be accessible and are required for certain situations.
What are the alcohol policies on board?
Guests 21 and over may consume alcohol responsibly on board. You’re welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages. We ask that all guests drink responsibly. The captain has final authority and reserves the right to deny boarding or end a charter early if guests are excessively intoxicated or creating unsafe conditions. Florida’s boating under the influence laws apply.
What if someone gets injured during the charter?
All our crew members are trained in basic first aid, and each yacht has a first aid kit on board. For minor injuries, the crew can provide basic assistance. In the event of a serious injury or medical emergency, we have communication equipment to contact emergency services and can quickly return to shore. Your safety is our top priority.
Are your captains licensed and insured?
Yes, absolutely. All our captains hold current U.S. Coast Guard licenses and have extensive experience navigating Fort Lauderdale waters. Our vessels carry comprehensive insurance coverage for passenger liability. We adhere to all Coast Guard regulations and safety standards. Your safety and peace of mind are paramount.
What safety equipment is on board?
In addition to life jackets, our yachts carry:
- Fire extinguishers
- First aid kits
- Emergency flares
- Radio communication equipment
- Navigation lights
- Sound signaling devices
- Emergency positioning equipment All equipment is regularly inspected and maintained to USCG standards.
Day of Charter
Where do we meet for departure?
We’ll provide specific meeting location details upon booking confirmation. Typically, we depart from marinas in Fort Lauderdale. We’ll send you the exact address, parking information, and any access instructions before your charter. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.
What if we’re running late?
Please call us immediately at (954) 233-3513 if you’re running late. We’ll do our best to accommodate small delays, but remember that your charter time starts at the scheduled departure. Significant delays may cut into your charter duration. For fairness to other scheduled charters, we can’t typically extend return times without prior arrangement and additional fees.
What happens at the beginning of the charter?
When you arrive, our crew will greet you, help you board safely, and store any items you’ve brought. Before departing, the captain will conduct a mandatory safety briefing covering life jacket locations, emergency procedures, bathroom locations, and vessel rules. This takes about 5-10 minutes. Then we’ll depart for your adventure!
Can we rearrange the itinerary during the charter?
Absolutely! While we’ll plan an itinerary in advance, you have flexibility during your charter. Want to stay longer at a swimming spot? Want to skip a destination and add another? Just let your captain know. They’ll accommodate your preferences as long as it fits within your charter time, weather permits, and it’s safely possible.
What if we want to return early?
If you decide to return before your scheduled charter end time, that’s fine but charter fees are not prorated for early returns. We’ve reserved the yacht and crew for your entire booked time. We recommend booking the duration you think you’ll need rather than over-booking.

Can we see dolphins and marine life?
Yes! Fort Lauderdale waters are home to Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, which are frequently spotted during charters. While we can’t guarantee wildlife sightings, dolphins are commonly seen, especially in the Intracoastal Waterway and near inlet areas. You might also see manatees, sea turtles, various fish species, and coastal birds. Our captains know the best areas for potential wildlife viewing.
How far is Bimini, and can we go there?
Bimini, Bahamas is approximately 50 nautical miles from Fort Lauderdale. Round-trip to Bimini requires a minimum 8-hour charter and is subject to weather conditions. This is an all-day adventure with early morning departure. You’ll need passports for all guests. The crossing takes about 2 hours each way, leaving 4 hours in Bimini for beach time, dining, and exploring. Additional fuel charges apply for Bahamas trips.

Whether you’re celebrating a milestone birthday, hosting an elegant sunset social, planning a summer adventure, or simply looking to create extraordinary memories with loved ones, a yacht charter in Fort Lauderdale offers an unmatched experience. As Jodi Lieff shared after chartering for her husband’s 50th, “What a day!! We chartered the boat for my hubby 50th and brought the whole family! 13 of us and there was ample room for everyone to sit anywhere! Beautiful cruising along the intracoastal and we went out to the ocean for a quick snorkel. If the ocean was calmer we all would have gone out. Our captain was fabulous! Would highly recommend this charter for your next boating trip. A+ for this charter.” From the moment you step aboard our meticulously maintained 60-foot yachts until your final sunset reflection on calm waters, every moment contributes to memories that will last a lifetime.
